Welcome to the website of Carlsbad High School Vocal Music!

About Us The vocal music program at Carlsabd High School consists of both classical repertoires and show choir sets. The four award-winning choirs include: Chamber Singers, the advanced mixed choir; Encore, the advanced women’s show choir; Sound Express, the advanced mixed show choir; and Lancer Choir, the beginning mixed choir. Students learn sight singing skills, music theory, music history, as well as classical and modern music in multi-part harmonies. In addition to a Winter and Spring concerts, the choirs also compete with other choirs for trophies and awards. Carlsbad High School is proud to be the recipient of numerous awards both locally and nationally. The strength of the program is evidence of the commitment of our choir director, Ms. Christy Owen.

Fundraisers September 11th @ 8:00 AM- Choral Department Fundraiser Breakfast at the Oceanside Applebee's. Students will receive a flyer and tickets to sell the first week of school. We are asking each family to buy or sell a minimum of 5 tickets. The tickets are $10.00 ($5.00 of each ticket goes right back into your student's fair share account!) In addition to this putting some money into students' accounts, it is also a time for us to gather together and put faces with names, get acquainted, etc. You will also see some amazingly talented servers (maybe even MISS OWEN?) that morning. Tricia Duffy is the contact person for this event (after 8/18). September 25th (time TBA)- Taste @ ArtSplash We will be selling tickets to this fun and delicious community event, so don't buy them from someone else... If you are unfamiliar with Taste @ ArtSplash, please visit the ArtSplash website (www.carlsbadartsplash.org). You and your friends will enjoy an evening of art, entertainment, and samples from various Carlsbad restaurants. Tickets are $20.00 with $10.00 going back into your student's fair share account! They will be available to sell after 8/15 from Julie Hart-Lawson (home phone:760-434-1345). She will also be organizing a couple of selling venues for students. Stay posted!
